Come and enjoy a traditional winter fishing trip on Lake Kitka! A snowmobile sled will take us to the best fishing spots, where we will check the fishing nets with an experienced local fisherman who will be guiding us throughout the entire journey. The main catch typically includes pike and burbot. After inspecting the nets, we’ll head to the secret perch fishing sites to see who can reel in the biggest perch using jigging techniques.
After approximately one hour of fishing, we’ll continue to the fisherman’s cottage. There, we’ll enjoy a steaming bowl of hot soup and prepare a tasty snack from our catch over the open fire, all while soaking in the tranquility of the pristine Lappish nature. A warm, homemade berry juice will also be served. As we savor our meal and hot juice, we’ll hear captivating stories about the local way of life and traditional fishing practices.
From Ruumissaari Island, we’ll make our way back to the fisherman’s house in Mourusalmi, Posio, once again by snowmobile sled.
