Winter fishing in traditional finnish way

Come to enjoy a traditional winter fishing trip at lake Kitka! The snowmobile sled will take us to the best fishing spots. We will check the fishing nets with an experienced local fisherman who will be guiding us the entire trip. The main catch will be normally pikes and burbots. After checking the nets we’ll head for the secret perch fishing sites and find out who will catch the biggest perch by jigging.

Next stop of our trip will be the Ruumissaari island where a tasty meal is prepared from the day’s catch at the fisherman’s cottage.* After the meal we’ll have a nice cup of coffee and hear stories of nature and local lifestyle.

From Ruumissaari island we will head back to the fisherman’s house to Mourusalmi, Posio with a snowmobile sled.

* If we haven’t been lucky and caught any fish, the fish is replaced with a grilled sausage.

Please note: Warm clothing due to weather and waterproof shoes are required.
