Come and experience a traditional fishing trip with a local fisherman. Timo Posio will take you to see stunning landscapes of lake Kitka and the surrounding areas. This will surely be an exciting and refreshing experience. Delicious food will crown the trip and if you’re lucky it might even be of your own catch!

The idea for an honest fishing tour came from Timo’s own hobbies and traditions. He’s an experienced fisherman born and raised in Posio. He knows the best fishing spots of local lakes and does fishing nearly on an everyday basis. Aside from fishing Timo is an untiring adventurer and has been on many adventures to the northest of Scandinavia.

WINTER JIG FISHING AT LAKE KITKA

Winter jig fishing trip with a local fisherman lets you experience the best perch fishing spots at lake Kitka, known for its wide waters with plenty of fish. The trip starts with a snowmobile sled ride to the fishing spots where we will learn the secrets of winter jig fishing.

WINTER FISHING IN TRADITIONAL FINNISH WAY

Come to enjoy a traditional winter fishing trip at lake Kitka! The snowmobile sled will take us to the best fishing spots. We will check the fishing nets with an experienced local fisherman who will be guiding us the entire trip. The main catch will be normally pikes and burbots.

A SUMMER FISHING TRIP TO A FOREST POND IN THE NIGHTLESS NIGHT OF LAPLAND

Posio has more than 3,000 lakes and ponds. Come along to enjoy Lapland's nightless night and experience one of these peaceful and fishy forest ponds together with a local fisherman. We drive the car together near a fishy forest pond and hike from the car to the pond.

A TRADITIONAL FOREST LAPP FISHING TRIP IN SYÖTE NATIONAL PARK

This unique field trip is intended for slightly more experienced hikers who want to experience the magic of old forests and remote lakes in the scenery of Syöte National Park. We start the trip by packing the equipment in the trunks.

    “One of the best experiences of our lives. Timo was fantastic. We had 2 children age 10 and 12 and Timo kept us all engaged, happy and warm for the duration. The sled ride to the lake was exciting enough for the kids let alone the fishing. We caught 7 fish and then went to Toni’s fishing cottage where he warmed us with warm juice, showed us how to filet the fish and then prepared our catch and cooked it on the fire. It was delicious. Another sled ride across the lake and through the forest took us back and we all agreed this was one of the best experiences we have had on any of our travels. A truly unique experience with a wonderful guide. Highly recommend to all (dress appropriately!) It was something we will never forget!”

Weather was windy but not so cold (still impressive to pull the net without gloves ahah ! We learnt a lot. The lunch at the cottage was really nice in a friendly atmosphere. Would do it again !     “The trip with Timo was an amazing experience that we will remember a lifetime for sure. We booked the traditional ice fishing tour. It was interesting to see the fishing method with the net. Afterwards we did some jig fishing. Timo brought us to a prewarmed (!) cabin on an island nearby and cooked the fish we caught for us. We had experience in warm weather fishing but it was our first time on ice. Even if you dont have any experience at all, Timo will show you how it is done. Dont miss out on this ice fishing tour!”
